135 MILLION TL CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY FROM VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS

The Ministry of National Education continues to increase the production capacity of vocational schools and practical skills of their students. Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that İstanbul Büyükçekmece Kumburgaz Vocational and Technical School ranked first in the production ranking with 4 million 619 thousand Turkish Liras adding that income from the production of vocational high schools increased by 17 percent when compared with the figures of last year and reached 135 million liras in the first four months of this year."

Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that reinforcement of the education, production and employment cycle has been the priority of the transformation which vocational education went through in the last three years.
 
Noting that one of the important steps taken within this framework is increasing the production capacity of vocational schools, Özer said, "As a result of these steps, income earned from the production of vocational high schools increased by 100 percent in 2020 when compared to previous years despite the Covid-19 pandemic. In the first 4 months of 2021, income of these schools increased by 17 percent when compared to the same period of last year and reached 135 million liras. We are aiming at making a higher profit in 2021."
 
"We are making progress according to the plans and schedules we planned. We have changed our production portfolio. We also reinforced our workshop infrastructure which has a direct impact in the quality of vocational education. We started to produce workshop experiment sets which are used in vocational education. We expect that the increasing variety of products will be reflected in the income figures."
 
Vocational schools in Ankara, İstanbul and Şanlıurfa earned highest income
Özer stated that vocational schools in Ankara, İstanbul and Şanlıurfa earned the highest income in the four months of 2020 adding that, "Vocational high schools in Ankara earned 16 million and 269 thousand liras, schools in İstanbul earned 14 million and 229 thousand liras and schools in Şanlıurfa earned 8 million and 878 thousand liras during this period."

Özer also mentioned about the production income ranking among vocational high schools and said, "İstanbul Büyükçekmece Kumburgaz Vocational and Technical School ranked first in the production ranking with 4 million and 619 thousand liras, Şanlıurfa Karaköprü GAP Vocational and Technical School ranked second with 4 million and 424 thousand and Gaziantep Şahinbey Mehmet Rüştü Uzel Vocational and Technical School ranked third with 4 million and 15 thousand liras."
 
Deputy Minister Özer thanked the Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education, all Provincial Directorates of National Education, school principals, teachers and students who successfully carried this process.
 
Income earned from the production of vocational high schools increased by 100 percent in 2020 when compared to the last two years and reached 503 million 197 thousand and 847 Turkish Liras.
