FOLLOWING THE MID TERM BREAK, NEW SCHOOL TERM BEGINS ON NOVEMBER 23 MONDAY WITH DISTANCE EDUCATION

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, primary, secondary and high school students will continue their education through TRT EBA, EBA and live classroom applications, printed and digital workbooks until January 4, 2021.  Pre-school and nursery students will have face to face education."

Following the end of first mid-term break, distance education will begin on November 23 Monday and continue until January 4, 2021 through TRT EBA, EBA, live classroom applications, printed and digital sources.
 
The first midterm break began on November 17 and ended on November 20. Teachers attended online professional improvement programs during the break.
 
A Cabinet Meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan decided that all official, private and formal education activities will be carried out in the form of distance education until January 4, 2021.
 
Within this context, secondary school and high schools, private education schools and applied classes of vocational schools, private courses and support and training courses will not be carried out face to face.
 
Exception for pre-school and special education
As a result of consultations with related institutions, all private and state preschools, nursery classes will continue with the five day face to face education. Within this context, there will be 6 activity classes for 5 days a week and every activity class will be 30 minutes. In addition to this, it will be possible to open children's club under the condition of taking all necessary pandemic measures in the pre-school education institutions. There will be an exception for face to face education of students who are taking training in special education and rehabilitation centers according to the Law no. 5580 on Special Education Institutions.
 
Moreover, courses for driving and pilot license will continue to give theory based classes through face distance education. Applied trainings of these courses will be completed after January 4, 2021.
 
Distance education tools 
Weekly class schedules will be prepared by the teachers under the coordination of school administrations and shared with students and their parents. School principals and teachers will construct their distance education program according to the curriculum.
 
During this process, distance education will be carried out mainly through TRT EBA channels, live classroom applications, EBA internet platform and printed and digital workbooks.
 
There will be no face to face or distance examination during this period
The Ministry will not conduct any exam either face to face or distance until January 4, 2021. It is planned to conduct face to face exam in the school environment after this date but issues concerning assessment and evaluation will be determined according to the conditions created by the pandemic. Students will be responsible for the classes they learned through face to face and distance education in the exams.
 
Tablet distribution
Tablet computers donated by state offices and institutions, local administrations, private sector and civil initiatives are distributed to students in need. It is planned that 500 thousand tablets will be delivered to students until the end of this year.
 
Live classroom application
With the integration of live classroom and alternative applications to the system during the distance education process, EBA has the capacity of giving approximately 2 million classes every day.
 
EBA internet portal including more than 1700 lectures and 40 thousand rich, reliable and interactive contents will be used by students. EBA offers interactive and video supported lectures, exercises, summaries, info graphics, project documents, more than 5 thousand books and more than 240 thousand questions for teachers and students.
 
Teachers will continue to get additional course fee
During this process, teachers will continue their activities from a distance and go to schools to use computers and cameras for distance education classes. Group teachers will go to school at least once a week in order to coordinate and keep track of the distance education process. Teachers will continue to get additional course fees.
 
In order to carry out effective and productive distance education, school administrations will make assessment meetings at least once a week with group teachers and guidance counselors.
 
According to the pandemic table of the last week of December, transition to face to face education will be planned and the schedule will be shared with the public.
 
EBA assistant, MEB Assistant and 44 0 632 MEBİM call center will be accessible 7/24 and answer all questions regarding the distance education.
 
Semester holiday will begin on January 22, Monday and end on February 2, 2021 Friday.
