HISTORICAL RECORD FROM VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS: REVENUES INCREASED BY 995 PERCENT IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer noted that vocational and technical Anatolian high schools broke a historical record by increasing their income from 215 million 268 thousand liras in 2017 to 2 billion 357 million by the end of 2022, with a 995 percent increase in the last five years. Özer said that in 2022, students received a share of 110 million 552 thousand liras, and teachers and staff 235 million 898 thousand liras, a total of 346 million 450 thousand liras.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer emphasized that the transformation experienced in vocational education in Türkiye is an example for the developed world countries, and reminded that the interventions made with social engineering projects such as coefficient applications during the February 28 process caused the loss of reputation of vocational high schools. Özer said that thanks to the revolutionary arrangements they have made in vocational education under the leadership of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the vocational education model in Türkiye is now an inspiration to developed countries. Özer said that thanks to the transformations made in this field after he was appointed as Deputy Minister in charge of vocational education, vocational high schools have started to accept the most successful students with the highest success rate and contribute to the country's economy from the income they have obtained.
 
Minister Özer stated that as part of education-production-employment in vocational and technical education, they always support the production activities of schools in revolving funds in order to enable students to learn by producing in real production environments. Minister Özer noted that vocational and technical Anatolian high schools broke a historical record by increasing their income from 215 million 268 thousand liras in 2017 to 2 billion 357 million by the end of 2022 with a 995 percent increase in the last five years. Özer thanked the provincial and district principals, school administrators, teachers and students who contributed to this process, and everyone who contributed.
 
Noting that a significant amount of income has been obtained from the production of vocational high schools in the last five years, Özer shared that the total income of vocational and technical education institutions was 215 thousand 268 thousand liras in 2017. He stated that this rate increased by 15 percent and reached 248 million 608 thousand in 2018, by 43 percent and reached 356 million 435 thousand liras in 2019, by 41 percent and reached 503 million 197 thousand liras in 2020, by 131 percent and reached 1 billion 162 million 574 thousand liras by end of 2021 and by 102 percent with 2 billion 357 million 755 thousand liras in 2022.

Pointing out that students received a share of 110 million 552 thousand liras and teachers 235 million 898 thousand liras, Özer stated the total share that both students and teachers have is 346 million 450 thousand liras in 2022.
 
Top five cities with the highest increase in income
Explaining the top five provinces with the highest income from production in 2022, Özer said that Istanbul placed on the top with 272 million 683 thousand liras, and Ankara was ranked second with 259 million revenues. Özer said that Gaziantep, which has increased its income to 208 million liras, came in third, Bursa is ranked fourth with 143 million liras, and Konya ranked fifth with 92 million 500 thousand liras.
 
The top three schools with the highest increase in income
Minister Özer said that Ankara Beypazarı Fatih Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Gaziantep Şehitkamil Şehit Serdal Şakır Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Gaziantep Şehitkamil Beylerbeyi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School are respectively the top three schools with the highest income.
 
As part of the revolving fund, the top five areas that increased their incomes are; food and beverage services, furniture and interior design, metal technology, accommodation and travel services, and electrical electronics technology.
