R&D CENTER IN A VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BURSA DEVELOPED A SYSTEM THAT TRANSFORMS WIND TO ELECTRICITY FOR RVS

The Automotive Industry Exporters Union Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School in Bursa developed a prototype which transforms wind to electricity for RVs.

Teacher Burak Ün and his students from the Automotive Industry Exporters Union Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School in Bursa which was defined as one of the R&D centers by the Ministry of National Education has developed a system that transforms wind energy to electricity for RVs which are on the road as a part of their project to transform kinetic energy to electricity.

The prototype developed by Ün and his students is based on the idea of transforming electricity produced by silent and vibration-free tribunes embedded in RVs to the batteries.

They named the system "Çe-vrim" for patent application and the system aims at producing energy for RVs and reducing dependency of electrical vehicles for charging stations.

Engine vehicle technology teacher Burak Ün stated that he and his students have been working on the project for transforming kinetic energy to electricity for 2 years.

Ün stressed that they managed to transform wind energy to useful electricity by using a system embedded in the vehicle and gave the following details about the system.

"In meteorology, speeds above 100 kilometers are considered as "hurricane border" and this means kinetic energy. We transform this kinetic energy to electricity energy by placing spiral savonius vertically. We also managed to store this mechanic energy which was transformed from kinetic energy."

"Electrical vehicles will become semi-independent from charging stations"
Ün pointed out that electrical vehicles are directly dependent on charging stations adding that, "This system aims at allowing electrical vehicles to become semi-independent from charging stations by producing electricity energy from wind."

Stating that the system is designed for internal combustion engine-powered vehicles, Ün went on to say: "People are buying RVs for their freedom but they have to park their vehicles to RV camps as their vehicles are dependent on electricity. Our system will allow producing electricity while RVs are on the road and store it. We produced our prototype but its aesthetics are not good enough, yet."

"We applied for a patent"
Meanwhile, School Principal Metin Sezer stated that the school aims at carrying out renovation activities in the field of clean energy in a rapidly changing technology sector adding that, "We have developed this project with the purpose of reducing the energy problem to a minimum. We completed this project with the support of Automotive Exporters' Union."

Noting that the project was developed as a part of R&D activities of the Ministry of National Education, Sezer said that the school has applied for the patent of the system.
